Winter Circus

This former winter circus and hippodrome was founded in 1894 by order of the Cercle Equestre in Belgium. In 1920 it was destroyed by fire, only the facade was preserved. Winter Circus was not only used as a circus, but also for revues, variety shows and film screenings. After the last circus (1944), the Nouveau Cirque finally closed its doors. From 1947, the area was used as an antique car collector garage and was the most beautiful car of the town. Since the closure in 1978 of the garage, there have been several ambitious projects, but there he stands, empty ..., so beautiful and asking to be photographed. Finally restoration begins in 2014.

Ghost Train

Sometimes we find nice things on the way to our explorations. Like this traincar, left there, alone, decomposing slowly and letting our imaginations transport us to a time when it was used and where he spanked dreams.

The CDC

This place is a classic! It draws us to its history and architecture. There is a very special atmosphere that I can not explain! I enjoyed walking through the corridors, I discovered large and beautiful rooms. Yet the noise startled me often. This building was built in 1531 and rebuilt in 1872. Since 2003 he was forsaken and after all these years it remains intact. Far from vandalism and graffiti. Access is very difficult, and well guarded by the police. I do not know if this place will be restored, yet it is there in the middle of a big city out of sight.

The Crypte

This cold and wet place is very quiet and mysterious! The crypt was built in 1900 and today it is highly degraded! The damage in the galleries are caused by water infiltration and became dangerous. Currently in restauration all slabs are carefully numbered and will be replaced soon! Public access is prohibited. The crypte will be considered as a protected monument.

Brasserie Eylenbosch

The brewery was founded in 1851 according to some sources, and was owned by Emiel Eylenbosch - Van Cutsem. They were specialized in brewing special Belgian beers, as the Krieken Lambic and Gueuze beers which was a very heavy beer. The brewery was acquired in 1989 by de Keersmaeker Breweries (Mort Subite, later acquired by Alken Maes), since the site was severely neglected. Since 2004 the site was abandoned by Alken Maes brewery. The plants remained until the early 21th century untouched, currently the brewery however almost completely dismantled.

Baron Rouge

This large house well tucked in a residential neighborhood is a little treasure. Intact rooms, supplies in place and objects of all kinds carefully arranged. The owner loved music and theater. Include autographed photos. The Red Baron is going up and down here leaves beautiful memories. _MG_5826
